Guide to Puppy Ownership
It is something exciting to think of having a puppy at home. Some people get really envious of people who own dogs and are able to walk them down the street of in the park, and so they decide that they would also buy one for themselves. Having a puppy is not like buying any items in the store since there are living creatures so before you buy one make sure that you are able to answer important questions about it.
There are a lot of responsibilities in owning a dog. This is because puppies are dependent creatures and they rely on their owners to give them daily sustenance. Your life has to include your dog in everything you do and so when you are making plans you need to consider him in everything you do. It is good that your dog can have time to be outdoors and have time to walk down the street or in the park. When you own a dog you will also give second thoughts about going away on a vacation or sending the night out without making a plan and including the puppy in it. If you are going away, you should ask somebody close to you if he or she can take over the puppy responsibilities while you are away. You can put your dog in a dog boarding facility if you cannot find anyone to stay with your dog at home. You should give your time and your love to your dog since they really need that attention and care. it is great if you can be the one to personally feed your dog, and sometimes even play with them outside your house.
Dogs are not like cats who are independent; dogs look for human attention especially when they are left alone for awhile. Dogs have more needs than cats and it is not possible to leave them for long periods of time. Full time workers who need to leave their pets all by themselves should remove the idea of having a dog from their minds. But if your work is at home or there is somebody to be with the dog during the day, then it is alright to get yourself a dog.
The payment for the puppy is not the only expense you will incur for buying one. Food, vet bills, flees and tick medication, and vaccinations are included In the expenses you will have upon owning a dog. You need to buy a weekly supply of food, toys, bowls for food and water, and a bed. A dog walker is also needed to walk your pet in case you can do I yourself. Another source of expenses is when you need to go away and you have to hire a dog walker to do the walking f you. Pet insurance is another expensive item in your expense lists.
